My Bridesmaid Jewelry Sets Wishlist from Tidebuy

I've been joining and asking to be a bridesmaid for I think 5 times in my life and I'm considering myself as a "bridesmaid forever". Being bridesmaid on my cousins, on my best friends, my mom's friend's daughters. I've been selected too as a bridesmaid even i don't seem close or related to the bride. Etc. Etc. REVLON COLORBURST MATTE BALM || FIRST PRODUCT REVIEW

Hello sweets!

A whole lot of talking is made up of today's post!

Cassie Thriftier became online 2 years ago and all I've ever wanted was to share my thriftstyle outfits, inspire and be inspired by other bloggers who has different taste on dressing up particularly thrift fashion. I came to a wonder, why I have never ever got to try reviewing a product that I am using? Well, my answer is: because I am not a beauty blogger. Yes, I used products and cosmetics like everyone else, when I'm using a certain item I just use 'em, if I don't like 'em I dumped them or gave them away. Writing an opinion about a certain products doubted me a lot. I'm kinda hesitant like in a way my readers won't understand much my words and adjectives I might be using in order to bring my true opinion or feedback, the not-so-good english that exercise and I am also holding on a dogma that, "I don't buy something to have a topic on my blog" , instead I blog what I have and being happy with it . I don't bash blogger's that post on what is their new  purchase, please don't get my words negatively. It just happens that buying products to blog about is not practical for my thrift pragmatic lifestyle so I always leave the "reviewing" on other bloggers particularly for beauty / lifestyle bloggers. Well anyways, those doubtful thoughts somehow changed, even just a trial though, I will still test the waters on reviewing products.  And I wanted to challenge myself on reviewing and getting my opinion on my latest purchase that is worth using. I suppose I won't be able to review products that are just a waste of time and money.

I want to share this lipstick review because I am in the tout to tell you about it. I am yearning for the lipstick Heroine, no, not the Heroine per se, but the limited edition MAC Lorde Lipstick in Pure Heroine . I find the dark plum shade quite intriguing and I really wanted to try it myself, but it's too pricey for me, online stores here in Ph. price it at least Ph950, it's equivalent to $21.69.

So proceeding to my love plum plump, 

instead of buying the pricey Heroine, I opted on Revlon lippies. I got this Revlon's Colorburst Matte Balm in "Shameles Desinvlote". Bought it at Watsons for about Php575 ($13.13). At first I thought it's just a matte lipstick, but it's a mix of tinted lip balm and a matte lippies, I was hesitant at first on buying this, how does it felt like and look like wearing it. But when I try the tester, without thinking twice, I bought it.

I made the swatches to, 1 coat, 2nd coat and 3rd coat. It's very pigmented, especially when worn on the lips. Though it's said that this is matte, don't expect that this is long lasting. It appears on the lips as matt-ey but it's generally a lip balm and can wipe off easily with a right amount of pressure. Has a eucalyptus scent and my lips felt the minty flavor that last for a few minutes and it's tasteless. If you swipe it 4 or more coats you an actually dark plum shade. Though my pictures only show 2 coats on my lips. Because of the inevitable color of the monitor, it is one shade darker than what it's look like on the pictures shown.

I am trying also the headband technique curls, and this is what the result looks like after an hour. I was taking pictures on the most secluded place at the office that's why back ground is quite unpleasant. ;)

Like I've said, this is a lip balm that is why it's kinda soft and very glide-y. I think I can consume this for only 1-3 months if used every day.

Pros: 

-It has a minty flavor

-Pigmented

-the lipstick case and cap is sturdy

-the lipstick bullet is quite unique because of the crayon like tip.

-easy to glide

Cons:

-Pricey for a lip balm

-very drying and not enough moisture benefits

Summary:
All in all I find this Colorburst line is quite good because they formulate matte lipstick and a lip balm. But If you're after advantage of a lip stain moisturizer per se, it's a thin line between the quantity and quality. If you want a matte lipstick you might want to try another brand. If you're a one frugal cosmetic user like me, this is acceptable enough for its price and quite nearly good quality. It's drying in a long run though and It's nice to experience this lippies but i think I'll be trying another product than to buy this again. Even the shade that I am looking for isn't a lot like Mac's "pure heroine" it's still a scene steal-er and fine Aubergine shade color. I must say this lippie's shade is quite perfect for whom that doesn't have a fainted heart, I can wear this in the office, at sunny days, rainy/gloomy days. Just in time that Autumn is nearly coming I want to challenge myself and see If I can create fall palette outfits with the contrast of a plum and dark orchid lips. What do you think of that combination?  ;) 
I'm up and about to save more dime for the Pure Heroine! (finger's crossed!)

I’ll take a breather on Vintage Monday Post because today is holiday, even I still got work and a lot a whole bunch to do, personnel is all laid back and enjoying the National Heroes Day of the Philippines. Just a few papers work without the rush. And I’m not feeling vintage-y, so I’m just posting my laid back get up last Aug. 16 when me and my beau visit someone who is really dear to us in the cemetery.

 While we’re doing nothing on the cemetery and just waiting and watching the candles melt little by little there’s an astray cat looms around us and when I call him “miing” with the “swish, swish” sound, he joined us and stay for a while and he makes adorable action while we, human petting him… So sweet, and I just thought it might be the soul of our dearest making a connection with us…

As for my outfit, I tried once again the print on print ensemble, and I don't know what is exactly missing but I am sure there is. I want to dress laid back on that day, but I think I am still too dressy. What d'you think? Hi Girls! TGIF! 

Oh no don't be alarmed it's still me!!! The thriftier you know with a loving heart for thrift and equip with anything girly and vintage. If ever you're wondering why my outfit is like this, I am just challenging myself into different styles. Even I'm always in different character with my outfit, I'm always on my comfort zone staples, like a blazer, and skirts with it's knee length, it can be shorter but I chose to wear it with a long sleeve so that the skin exposure is balance. But I have never worn a piece of clothing with my tummy exposing, while this crop top is not too short, I feel like I've gotten out of my conscious side. I realized too that I never have a signature style except for my oh so dry, red copper hair which I used as my personal accessory, I just go with what my fashion instinct (instinct....indeed?) tells me.

Thrifty as I can be, all clothing worn here is Off-brand local people made it and I bought from a Local boutique, and that Killer pumps are proudly made here in the Philippines, you bet it's from Marikina shoe makers. 

One thing will ever remain certain, it's my thriftier attitude... It's in me streaming through my veins, and I can never eject it from my system. I love being one, if they call me cheap, so be it! I'll take it literally. I don't promote it though, I just love sharing it. Thrifting is my fervor enough said. <3 I Heart all of you thrift loving people/readers!

VINTAGE MONDAY: THE FLORAL PRINT SKIRT

How's your weekend has been ? Mine is quite laid back but full of laundry . Today's post is all about this vintage skirt that I bought several months back, I have it altered because it's length is not complimenting my petite height so I ask a friend to alter it. 

There was a time that I got tired of using this floral skirt, but I am so glad because I haven't put it on my "to-be-dispose" bag yet. I am able to post this and make a wonderful match-matchy print on print outfit. To match this girly skirt, I decide to pair it with these cream colored chunky heeled pumps from Parisian Sm Dept. Store. I actually remember colorful outfits from Carrie Diaries when I was trying this out in front of my mirror. I also make my hair a little wavy by braiding it for a couple of hours ;)

FRACTIONS OF FLORAL AND RUGGED STYLE

Hi all! 

Today's outfit post is quite colorful with fractions of floral and bits of rugged. This is what I wore just yesterday and  I can't catch my everyday fashion mood, in a way like last Monday is a monochrome, and now a colorful floral paired with rugged skinny jeans. I know, I am not the only blogger that has an attitude on dressing up like this, I can't help it though. Every morning I wake up, it's a different thing that I wanted to wear in my daily runway... ;)

VINTAGE MONDAY: CREME DE LA CREME A LA THRIFTIER

Purity, modesty clarity,. This is what I have in mind while I was writing this post for this outfit. I feel like a vintage “young mom”. Gentle and nurturing is what I perceive on my behavior while I was striking a pose it just so happen that a presence of a young child is missing, that I might have been playing with. Hahaha, am I dreaming to have a baby already? Or is it just, my goddaughter visited me in the office earlier that me and Michael enjoys the company of that little rascal. Anyway, speaking of having a child, I ask him if he wants to, he returned to me the question. “Do you want to have now?” Aww, for my part, it’s hard to know if I really want to have a baby or not, it’s a thin line between the “I am not ready yet, financially and emotionally, and quite physically” and the thinking “yes,because I am not getting any younger anymore”.

I sound very intimate now in my life, am I getting you bored now? Hehe, sorry, It started with a cream reserved and modest outfit that I turned the subject into being a young mom and having a baby. In real life I am naturally like this, just talking about nothing that I turned a discussion into something… Oh well, thanks for your time reading my vintage Monday post.
