What do you think about the girl being accused of cultural appropriation for wearing a Chinese pattern prom dress?
ReplyDeleteI think she looks beautiful. And I’d kill to be her date that got to take the Most Unique Prom Dress lady to prom this year.
But besides that, I think it’s not cultural appropriation but rather cultural appreciation. I mean she’s taking a qipao and accepting it into our society as a thing of beauty. I mean it is a beautiful dress and that Jeremy Lam guy who started this whole thing is an idiot who doesn’t understand an appreciation for someone else’s culture.
My culture doesn’t deserve to be ruined but yet I wear American shirts and shorts and a baseball cap that has nothing to do with my culture.
