SISTER'S GRADUATION AND OUR VISIT TO ST. JEROME CHURCH

April 11 is a very glorious day for us because our baby has been graduated Bachelor of Arts in Business AministrationMajor in Human Resource Management. I never thought I will have this maternal feeling of enjoyment that she had finished already her Bachelor's Degree . If you’re a regular reader of this little blog, then you already knew that I had only one sister and I am the not so big sister. A little information also about the attire of the graduate. Her University (my alma matter too) follows the unique academic regalia of University of the Philippines. *"Sablay" a sash joined in front by an ornament and embroidered or printed with the University's initials in "Baybayin script" and running geometric motifs of indigenous Philippine ethnic groups.

The fun part is when I am retouching my sister's hair and make-up, my boyfriend is also fixing my hair due to time constraint I never get the chance to do my hair. Thankful that I am because Michael is always here that we consider jack of all trades ;)))

And Voila!!
This is the finished up-do that my boyfriend did to me. So messy but be very cute!!

Pardon for the twist and tangle necklace.

For a sister like me, I never forget to dress up too! And for scorching hot days like we experience I have decided that I will wear something comfortable but eligible outfit that is perfect for this special day. Pastel colors is still in this season that's why, the purple blazer that I thrift way back is pleasing on this combo although I really had the hard time with this cute heels.

Thriftier's Outfit:

Double Layered Cross Gold Necklace - Amanda's Place
Navy Blue Inner Top - Off brand
Purple Floral Blazer - Thrifted
Pastel Skirt - Pay Less (local boutique)
Pastel Pink Shoes - Sophie Martin

This actual photo is a phobia conquering too! My phobia posing in front of so many strangers that is waiting for the Graduation program to end. *sighs* I was like making my own shield not to make eye contact with them and I am aware that they all stared at us while we shoot! The picture was like carefree because of the wind accidentally blown on my skirt. ;D

It is almost dusk when the Graduation program ends, but Papito decided to visit his old School the St. Jerome Academy. He enters the academy about early 1970's but didn't finish his studies there because of untoward and tight circumstances but he finished his school at Manila. He also tell us the story of his mischief and troubles about being adolescent here. ;)

I guess it's just a few knows that I have the fascination for a beautiful old church. While parking the van, I kept saying "oh my gosh, the church is so beautiful". Even the looming of the night didn't keep me to stare and gaze the beauty of the church especially the Baroque details and the belfry.

The stains and cracks of the structure give additional flare to the baroque style of the old church and the dramatic belfry although the belfry itself is considered not to be visited because of its aged and accident might happen if people try to visit the actual interior of it.

Looking very tired.. ;)

Mama!!

The only picture that me and Michael had. <3

The visit on this church really mesmerized me. Thanks for the little tour Papa.

Love's a lot
Cassie

OUTTA MY COMFORT ZONE.. A BIT

A little uneasy, uncomfortable and a queasy stomach every time I pose in an open place like this. Whenever I/we make an outfit photo shoot, I try to be discrete as possible for people who would see me pose or emote in front of my amateur photographer. I fear their initial look into their face. The "dirty look" that makes me uneasy and sometimes embarrass. They make me think what they may think as of the moment like "what are they doing" or "is she a real model? Come-on, lookat her body and height! She's not probably model, she's just feeling like one". It made me paranoid sometimes.

One occasion made me do some blogger pose IN AN OPEN AREA, but with a few people randomly passing by. This is shot from my boyfriends' backyard. This is the first time that I visited this area of their place where I didn't expect it looking on drought. Likeness where I had dry confidence too. Maybe I was just feeling strange to the new atmosphere outside but this is what I want even I have the peculiar thrill! I wanted to slowly overcome this.

I was just really grateful that I have a supportive boyfriend that spoil me to everything that I wanted to do. ;) He's very lovable in his every shape.

Although I am not thrilled and i doubt this whole look, I can see that the outfit and the background blend well with each other. The dry and withering stems, the cracked soil, and the hue of the clothes I'm in. And I almost forgot the hair! My gosh I haven't retouch it's red and blonde ombre for 3 months now.

Thriftier's Outfit:

Gold Plated Bib Necklace - Girl Shoppe
Casio Watch - Watches Authentic
Kimono Style Outerwear - Offbrand
White Tank Top - Thrift
Distressed High Waist Shorts - Uniqlo
Platform Boots - Parisian by Sm Dept. Store

This will be my first "summer outfit" even though it's a bit early. But right now, it's really scorching hot here in the Philippines that is why, I can post spring or summer outfit or mixed and matched styles. Anyhow, this outfit is officially categorized/labeled by my "Summer Outfit" for 2014.

Thanks for dropping by sweet people!

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR HOLY WEEK?

*No offense to non Christian, Non Catholic readers and non-believers. I respect you all on how you will spend this kind of holidays.*

I stumble upon this question lately. i had observed how people are spending their Holy week. Especially the cool ones that aahm, how do I say or call it..? The celebrities and popular personalities planning their vacation. Even ordinary people. As What I perceived Catholic society now and Lent believers now, the solemness that should have been before Lenten season becomes a time where to leisure time, spending money and time for a tour abroad (not unless Pilgrims abroad), swimming in a beach and any kind of luxuries that they can’t insert in their regular time.

This is should be the time of penance, repentance of sins, have been a time where we have to strengthen our spiritual relationship to God, brace or faith. Reflect to our Lord Jesus Christ when he died in a cross to save us from our sins. Somehow we can determine and resolve our own spiritual issues, and just concentrate the Holy Week commemoration.

There are so many things to do to have meaningful Holy Week without spending too much. We can do such as watching easter movies, Visiting churches together with family and love ones. Doing pilgrims on such holy places. Etc etc. or just stay at home and do some daily devotional prayers.

Somehow we should realized the true meaning of Lenten. Teach our young ones on how we truly observe and spend Lenten spiritual discipline. I don’t write this just to critic other people lifestyle or something. Of course at the end of the day we decide I and do our own thing depends on how we take, perceived and accept things. I just write what I am seeing.

I am no writer or professional on working critics like this. This is just a glimpse on what I am observing in the catholic society now. I hope I deliver my words as gently as i can and no feelings hurt or offense taken. I do apologize if there's a misunderstanding occur from my words. Please just let me know if there's a need to delete this.

Yours truly,

Cassie

Spring Floral's Ringing

SPRING EPISODE I

Here in the Philippines, we only have two season; the dry season and the wet season. So sad that we don't experience the spring, summer, winter or fall. But..

IT RAINS

BUT SUNSHINE TRICK ME

Last March 25 I woke in the morning with dark skies. It looks to it that it's going to rain and the worst part is, it's very cold, Even the water on the faucet is freezing. I  anticipate that it will rain all day that is why I wore long-sleeve semi see-through that has a leather detail. Yes it rains and to my surprise, when I am on my work the sun SHINES so bright that I felt the embarrassment of wearing warm clothing.

We have no loads of work at this time that is why I can repay my 2 summers that I have missed for the past 2 years..

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE

by Pamela Redmond Satran

“A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
enough money within her control to move out

and rent a place of her own even if she never wants

to or needs to...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
something perfect to wear if the employer or date of her
dreams wants to see her in an hour...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a youth she's content to leave behind....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black
lace bra...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who
lets her cry...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone
else in her family...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a
recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a feeling of control over her destiny...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
HOW TO QUIT A JOB,
BREAK UP WITH A LOVER,
AND CONFRONT A FRIEND WITHOUT RUINING THE FRIENDSHIP...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't
take it personally...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...”

Even though I don't reckon I am a woman enough still this is one of my favorite quotes about woman. I discovered this from Rea Alducente of Reality Bytes last year i keep it for awhile and plan to post this on woman's month, so here it is. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I do.

Happy Women's Month to all!!

Greetings from me and my mom.  <3

MY HAIR'S FINAL CUT

For about 2 years I used to pry on my hair and because of curiousness I am pushy with the hair thing that is supposed to be done “only” by professionals. Well, I was too hard headed to do my own hair including hair coloring, cellophane-ing, bleaching. What that hasn't been done is re-bonding my own hair and perming it.

Being Round and My Pair of Scissorhands

I have announced to my last post that I have cut my hair for abut 5 inches.. Now.. I cut them another 3! Woo! It looks so long still. I come to the point of cutting my hair because I am kind of tired with it. The dry part from the middle to the ends the muddle up ombre blondie… Though I love my “messy hair” I think my hair needs a refreshing cut.

Thriftier's Outfit:
Gold  Double Cross Necklace - Amanda's Place ( local boutique)
Gold Vintage watch - Casio
Mystic Knot bracelet - Chinese charm kiosk
 Black Peplum Blouse - Dalagita
Red Jeggings - Off Brand
Leopard Heels - MNJ

On the other hand maybe you have noticed that I am becoming rounder and rounder… oh.. Food and stress is the main culprit! I am always tired and I trained myself to thinking things! And I ended up like a piggy Fashionista Hamster.. Yes a hamster! Oh well, I hope I will find time to work out for my body to healthy at least.

To tell you honestly when we took this picture we’re planning  for dinner out… Guilt-ridden situation Shame on me… and take note, we’ve gone for  a Korean Buffet.. Guilty pleasures indeed..
